Math--Periods 1 and 2--Period 1 is estimating products and determining if their estimates are over or under estimates.  Period 2 is multiplying by multiples of 10, 100, and 1000.  There is no homework.  Our mixed practices have improved so much!  GREAT JOB!
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Several of our fifth graders may grow up to be cutting edge inventors!  Your projects are very neat!  In class we are working on our bridge projects.  There is no homework.
Homeroom Reminders--December 23 will be Day 3--Phys. Ed. class.  Monday, January 5, 2015 will be Day 4--Computer class.  Communication envelopes will be sent home on December 23.

Math--Period 1--Complete reteaching worksheet 2-2 and workbook page 7.  There are a few students who have not returned signed tests.  These must be signed on Monday.
Math--Period 2--We started our Topic 1 test today.  In your textbook, review lessons 1-1 to 1-6.  Read the examples and study the place value charts. 
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Complete textbook pages 40 and 42.  Study your Topic One study guide and textbook page 26 for our test on Tuesday.
Homeroom Reminders--Communication envelopes were sent home today with information on next week's Red Ribbon Week.  The theme days are as follows...

Math--Periods 1 and 2--Today students received their Math textbooks.  Textbooks need to be covered by next Tuesday.  Students should also have a blue folder and a notebook for Math.  We will be receiving workbooks for Math shortly.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Today students received their Science textbooks.  Parents, you may want to cover the Science books with clear contact paper.  Students will be writing in this book throughout the year.  Students should also have an orange folder and a notebook for Science.

Welcome Back to School!
Today we spent a lot of time going over rules and routines to help our year in fifth grade run smoothly.  Students had their special, recess, and lunch.  This afternoon they visited periods 1, 2, 3, and 4.  Communication envelopes were sent home today with additional beginning of the year information.  Thank you to the parents who already returned their child's paperwork.  Because I was unable to attend back to school night, I will be in school this Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. if you would like to meet. I am looking forward to a great year!  There is no written homework.  Tomorrow is Day 2--Library class.
