Math--Period 1--Study your place value chart. Complete your worksheet in your notebook. We labeled it HW 9/12. It is on writing numbers in word form. Use your spelling help sheet to check your spelling.
Math--Period 2--Complete textbook page 7 up to number 13. Do this work in your notebook. Skip lines and spread out your work.
Science--Period 3--We continued our lab one packet related to the scientific method and our first experiment. There is no homework.
Science--Period 4--We carried out our first experiment today. There is no homework.
Homeroom Reminders--Picture day is tomorrow. Don't forget about our 2 hour delay for a faculty meeting on Wednesday. Tomorrow will be Day 1--Music class.

Math--Period 1--There is no homework. Today in class, we continued to practice writing numbers up to the hundred billions place in standard form.
Math--Period 2--Today we took our place value chart quiz and started our next review sheet. Our class was shorter than normal due to our 9/11 program. There is no homework.
Science--Period 3--Today we did not have class due to our 9/11 program. There is no homework.
Science--Period 4--Today we started to review the scientific method which we will tie to an experiment on Monday. There is no homework.
Homeroom Reminders--Red Spartan communication folders were sent home today. Just a reminder--there will be a 2 hour data delay on Wednesday. Thank you to Mr. Kessler, a fireman from the Washington, D.C. area, who talked to fifth grade about 9/11. When we return to school on Monday, it will be Day 10--Phys. Ed.

Science--Period 4--Today in class, students completed a question activity. They had to identify questions as scientific or not scientific. There is no homework.

Math--Periods 1 and 2--Get your math textbook covered by next Tuesday. Today in class, we completed a paper on the basic multiplication facts, a daily review sheet, and a pre-assessment on place value.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--There is no homework. Period 3 worked on a lab safety mini-project. Period 4 did not have class due to today's Pep Rally.
Homeroom Reminders--Please return your beginning of the year forms to school ASAP. Return them in the red Spartan folder. This will be the folder that your child will use throughout the year to bring home communications from the school office. Thank you to the parents who already returned their children's forms! Red Spartan communication folders were sent home today. Return them to school on Tuesday. Because we are not able to drink the water at school, students may bring in a bottle of water. When we return to school on Tuesday, it will be Day 6--Music class.

Science--Periods 3 and 4--There is no homework. Today in class we did a picture picture study on lab safety. Students again worked with partners and did a GREAT job!
Homeroom Reminders--Please return your beginning of the year forms to school ASAP. Return them in the red Spartan folder. This will be the folder that your child will use throughout the year to bring home communications from the school office. Thank you to the parents who already returned their children's forms!
