Math--Periods 1 and 2--In both classes we worked on Lesson 1 on completing sequences and describing their rules. We will continue with this lesson on Tuesday. There is no homework this weekend.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--No homework. We will continue our lab on creating and separating mixtures next Tuesday.
Homeroom Reminders--Communication envelopes were sent home today. When we return to school on Tuesday, it will be Day 1--Phys. Ed.

Math--Periods 1 and 2--In both classes we went over our Baseline tests. We also started textbook Lesson 1 on math patterns. We have no written homework.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Today we started our lab on creating and separating mixtures which is on notebook page 4. We have no written homework.
Homeroom Reminders--Friday's are Spartan Spirit Days, and students may wear a Spartan shirt with their dress code shorts, pants, or skirts. Tomorrow is Day 5--Library. Hand in any outstanding beginning of the year forms ASAP.

Math--Periods 1 and 2--Today we finished our Baseline Test. Teachers will use the data from this test to plan teaching. It will let us know our students' strong and weak areas. This test is graded, but it will not be included in your child's math average. This is no written homework.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Today students received their books and notebooks. They should be stored in your child's orange Science folder. We also went over lab safety rules and previewed our first lab. There is no written homework.
Homeroom Reminders--Tomorrow is Day 4--Art. Please hand in beginning of the year forms ASAP. Students received an order form for football game tickets for Friday's game. Go Spartans!

Today we followed our regular class schedule.Math--Periods 1 and 2--Get your book covered. Period 2 students started their Baseline Test today. They will finish it tomorrow. Period 1 students will start their Baseline Test tomorrow.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Students participated in two ice breaker activities in class today. Tomorrow we will go over lab safety rules and start our first lab in Mixtures and Solutions.
Homeroom Reminders--Tomorrow is Day 3--Computers. Thanks for returning beginning of the year forms. If you still have not returned your forms to school, please do so ASAP.

Welcome Back to School!
It was a great first day! Today fifth graders became familiar with our procedures and expectations. Students visited each class for approximately 20 minutes, met their teachers, and were given an introduction to their classes. They also had their Day 1 specials and reviewed lunch and recess rules. In addition students had a grade level meeting where we reviewed grade level and school rules and emphasized personal responsibility and treating others respect. We are looking forward to a great year!Math--Periods 1 and 2--No homework.

It's our last week of school! Congratulations on your fifth grade successes!
Math and Science--There is no homework this week. Textbooks have been collected. Bring in your textbook if you have not handed it in yet. My math students have grown a lot this year! Continue to stay sharp with your facts by practicing over the summer.
Reminders--Tomorrow is Day 1--Phys. Ed. We also have our Envirothon field trip in the morning, and our end of the year pizza party in the afternoon. Bring a bagged lunch and plenty of water for our field trip. You may also bring sunblock and insect repellent. Library books must be returned by Wednesday. Thursday is the last day of school with an 11:45 dismissal. Lunch will be provided on the last day at 10:15. Mini corn dogs will be served. Report cards will be distributed on the last day as well.

Science--Periods 3 and 4--No homework. Project grade sheets are in your child's Science folder for your review. Our Envirothon Club field trip will take place next Wednesday morning. Plan to bring a bagged lunch with you. We will meet to discuss our trip next Tuesday afternoon.
Homeroom Reminders--Tomorrow is Carnival Day. Students are permitted to wear Phys. Ed. uniforms tomorrow. They may also bring an extra change of clothes and shoes in case they get wet. You may also want to have your child bring sun screen. Also don't forget your bagged lunch unless you requested a bagged lunch from the cafeteria. Our fifth grade End-of-the-Year party will be next Wednesday afternoon. Friday will not be a rotation day. When we return to school on Tuesday after Memorial Day, it will be Day 5--Library Book Exchange. All library books must be returned next week.
