Math--Periods 1 and 2--Today we continued working on place value up to the hundred billions place. We will continue work with this skill next week. We took a quiz on our multiplication facts this week. Many students need practice with their facts. Books need to be covered for Tuesday. There is no written homework.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--We did not have class today due to our Positive Behavior Plan school wide meeting and our district pep rally. There is no homework.
Homeroom Reminders--There is no school on Monday due to the Labor Day holiday. Students brought home their communication envelopes today. Please return them to school on Tuesday. When we return to school on Tuesday, it will be Day 5--Music class.

Math--Periods 1 and 2--Today we started working on our first Math topic--place value. Get your book covered by next Tuesday. There is no written homework.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Today in class we started our first topic--What is Science? There is no written homework.
Homeroom Reminders--Tomorrow morning we will have a school wide kick off for our Positive Behavior Plan. In the afternoon we will have our annual district pep rally at Spartan Field. As in the past, students may wear a Spartan shirt on Friday's. Tomorrow is not a regular rotation day.

Science--Periods 3 and 4--If you did not finish your survey in class today, finish it for homework.
Homeroom Reminders--I will be in school today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to meet with any parents since I was unable to attend Back to School Night last Wednesday. Enter the building at the main doors and come upstairs to the top floor. Our room number is 303. I look forward to meeting with you! Tomorrow is Day 4--Computer Class.

Math--Periods 1 and 2--Today students received their Math textbooks. Textbooks need to be covered by next Tuesday. Students should also have a blue folder and a notebook for Math. We will be receiving workbooks for Math shortly.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Today students received their Science textbooks. Parents, you may want to cover the Science books with clear contact paper. Students will be writing in this book throughout the year. Students should also have an orange folder and a notebook for Science.

Just a reminder, I will be in school tomorrow from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to meet with any parents since I was unable to attend Back to School Night last Wednesday. Welcome Back to School!
Today we spent a lot of time going over rules and routines to help our year in fifth grade run smoothly. Students had their special, recess, and lunch. This afternoon they visited periods 1, 2, 3, and 4. Communication envelopes were sent home today with additional beginning of the year information. Thank you to the parents who already returned their child's paperwork. Because I was unable to attend back to school night, I will be in school this Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. if you would like to meet. I am looking forward to a great year! There is no written homework. Tomorrow is Day 2--Library class.
