Math--Period 1--If you haven't already done so, get your two tests signed. Finish Lesson 10 and do 1 to 7 of the equation worksheet in your notebook. Refer to the examples on the back of your worksheet for help. Set them up exactly like the examples. Spread out your work.
Math--Period 2--If you haven't already done so, get your two tests signed. Correct and finish your subtraction worksheet. Do numbers 26 to 34 on lined paper. Finish Lesson 11.
Science--Period 3--Correct your Earth Element worksheet and notbook page 6. Complete notebook page 10 in complete sentences. You must write at least 5 sentences.
Science--Period 4--No homework.

Science--Periods 3 and 4--Complete notebook page 6 in complete sentences. Refer to your study guide stapled on page 5 for help if you need it.
Homeroom Reminders--Tomorrow is Day 1--Phys. Ed. Football game ticket preorder forms were sent home today. I wlll not be in school tomorrow due to a teacher meeting at the IU.

Math--Period 2--Get your two tests signed if you didn't already do so. Complete problems 1 to 25 of your subtraction worksheet. Do your work on lined paper. Make corrections to your Equations worksheet. Complete this work in your notebook.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Reread "Earth Elements" on pp. 11 and 12 and finish the "Earth Elements" worksheet.
Homeroom Reminders--Thursday is Day 2. We will have a special program instead of Music class. We will have Day 2 again on Friday, and we will have Music class then.

Math--Period 1--No homework. We worked on finding the value of a variable in an addition equation during class today. We will continue with this topic on Tuesday.
Math--Period 2--No homework. We finished our post lesson 10 tests today. We also worked on subtraction with borrowing and regrouping during class. We will continue with this topic on Tuesday.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--On Tuesday we will check notebook page 12 parts 2 and 3. Please see yesterday's blog to review what must be done if you did not complete it. Otherwise, there is no homework.
Homeroom Reminders--Communication envelopes were sent home today. Please return them to school on Tuesday. When we return to school on Tuesday, it will be Day 5--Library Book Exchange.

Math--Period 1--Correct Lesson 9. Complete your corrections on the lined paper that was given to you during class today. We started our post lesson 10 tests today, and we will finish them tomorrow.
Math--Period 2--We have no homework. We took our post lesson 10 tests today.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--Today we completed our separating a dry mixture lab. Great job, fifth grade! For homework finish parts 2 and 3 of notebook page 12. For part 2 proofread your experiment plan. Check your work for content and the mechanics of your writing. For part 3 describe how you separated the rocks, powder, and salt in your experiment. Also describe any improvements that you could have made in your experiment.
Homeroom Reminders--Tomorrow is Day 4--Art. Your art assignment is due tomorrow. Tomorrow is also our September Homework Mixer. If you had no missed homework assignments during the month of September, bring in a drink, snack, and game. During the afternoon, you will be able to travel to any fifth grade classroom to MIX with your friends! Congratulations are extended to our fifth graders who had no missed homework assignments during the month of September!

Science--Periods 3 and 4--Select one item from the Salt and Folklore box on page 10 of your Mixtures and Solutions book. On white paper write "Salt and Folklore" at the top. Copy one of the sentences from the Salt and Folklore box. Illustrate the sentence you selected. Proofread your sentence and include color in your picture.
