Math--Period 1--No homework. Your textbook should be covered.
Math --Period 2--Finish the lesson 2 worksheet. Refer to lesson 2 in your math textbook if you need help. Your textbook should be covered.
Science--Periods 3 and 4--No homework.
Homeroom Reminders--Communication envelopes were sent home today. Please return the envelopes to school on Tuesday. When we return to school on Tuesday, it will be Day 2--Music. Phys. Ed. for our homeroom is on Day 3 which will be Wednesday next week. School pictures will be on Thursday. You may send in picture money and the order form early if you would like.
We are off to a GREAT start in fifth grade!

Science--Students in periods 3 and 4 continued working on our first lab on Mixtures and Solutions. They are off to a very good start!
Homeroom Reminders--Tomorrow is Day 1--Art. There will be a district wide pep-rally at the high school stadium tomorrow after lunch. Textbooks should be covered for tomorrow. Please return any outstanding beginning of the year forms ASAP.

Math--Period 1--Finish page 10, numbers 1 to 25. You will do this work on the worksheet which we used in class today. Have your textbook covered for Friday.
Math--Period 2--Finish items "A" to "M" on the worksheet and 1 to 12 of the worksheet. These problems are also found on pages 9 and 10 of your textbook. Have your textbook covered for Friday.
Science--Periods 3 & 4--No written homework. We worked on a lab in class today.
Homeroom Reminders--Return your beginning of the year forms ASAP. Tomorrow will be Day 4-computer class. School pictures will be next Thursday. Forms were sent home yesterday.

There are no assignments in Science or Math today. We started a review of problem solving strategies in Math, and in Science we started our first lab activity in our Mixtures and Solutions module. Please have your Math textbook covered by Friday.
Homeroom Reminders--Today students brought home a green health form which needs to be returned to school ASAP. Picture forms were also sent home today. School pictures will be next Thursday. Also several students did not return the school handbook signature page. It was not at the end of the packet. It is found towards the middle. In addition please check if you returned the signature page for the grade five information. That is the last page of that packet. Tomorrow is Day 3 which is Phys. Ed. for room 219.

Our last day of school will be on Monday. Lunch will be served. There will be no breakfast. Dismissal is scheduled to begin at 11:45. If you have any textbooks at home, return them to school on Monday. Report cards will be distributed in school on Monday. Your child will also receive a letter listing the supplies needed for sixth grade. A copy of the updated dress code will be sent home as well. Parents, thank you for your support and interest this year. I have enjoyed working with our fifth graders in Science class. Have a fun and safe summer!

Week of June 1, 2010

All Science Classes--During Science classes this week, we will be wrapping up various hands-on activities. There is no written homework scheduled. Several students in all classes still must hand in signed tests or project grade sheets. Please check your child's Science folder for these items.
Reminders--We have an author visit program on Thursday afternoon. We are planning our end of the year party for Friday afternoon. Check Friday's blog for the cook's choices for lunch this week.
